SENIOR ANALYST AND EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT JOIN ENERGETICS TECHNOLOGY CENTER
La Plata, Md., September 21, 2009 – Michael Marshall, Senior Analyst and Gilda McFarland, Executive Assistant to the CEO have joined the Energetics Technology Center.
Mr. Marshall has worked in the Navy laboratory community throughout his career. Upon his retirement as a Navy civilian in 2000, Mr. Marshall joined the staff of the Applied Research Laboratory at Pennsylvania State University as an assistant to the director. From 2001-2005 he supported the Office of Naval Research (ONR) under an Intergovernmental Personnel Act Agreement. Since that time, he has worked as a senior analyst and consultant for IKTARA & Associates and Science Applications International Corporation. He is currently a senior analyst at the Energetics Technology Center.
Ms. McFarland comes to ETC with over 25 years of experience as an administrative coordinator. Prior to joining ETC, Ms. McFarland was an Executive Assistant with SAIC, where she was responsible for supporting human resources maintaining various databases, coordinating conferences and events, and maintaining and updating internal web sites. At ETC, Ms. McFarland will be responsible for personnel management, recruiting and hiring, developing and distributing internal and external corporate communications, and assisting with planning workshops and seminars.

Mr. Marshall is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), where he received his B.S. degree (with honors) and an M. S. degree, both in physics. He also holds a J.D. in law from the University of Maryland School of Law, and has been a member of the Maryland Bar since 1977.
Ms. McFarland received her Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology-Multimedia & Visual Communications. Ms. McFarland is also a certified Microsoft Office User Specialist (Expert Level).
The Energetics Technology Center is a private, non-profit enterprise dedicated to growing science and technology in Southern Maryland. It focuses on workforce and economic development in the region and is a catalyst for energetics research and development. The Energetics Technology Center is currently based in La Plata, Maryland.
