DR. STEVE STANCLIFF JOINS ENERGETICS TECHNOLOGY CENTER AS TECHNICAL LEAD, ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION
La Plata, Md., February 18, 2010 – Dr. Steve Stancliff recently joined the Energetics Technology Center as the Technical Lead for Robotics and Automation. In this capacity, Dr. Stancliff will lead the ETC’s research and development in autonomous vehicles and robots.
“At the Energetics Technology Center, we are continuing our drive towards national excellence in energetics and related technology such as Robotics,” said Bob Kavetsky, Chief Executive Officer for the Energetics Technology Center. “Steve has extensive academic and practical experience with regard to autonomous vehicles. Having him on board to lead this initiative is part of our long term strategy in building a strong technical team.”
Dr. Stancliff earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University. He earned his Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida and his Master of Science in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University. He was also awarded his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University. He has been widely published and holds numerous academic awards.
The Energetics Technology Center is a private, non-profit enterprise dedicated to growing science and technology in Southern Maryland. It focuses on workforce and economic development in the region and is a catalyst for energetics research and development. The Energetics Technology Center is currently based in La Plata, Maryland.
